Review by Epignosis
SPECIAL COLLABORATOR Honorary Collaborator
4 stars The material on this compilation is a strange one, as it is essentially the two Kansas albums released in 1998 and 1995. It is furthermore a poor man's version of Always Never the Same because it eliminates two passages that make that album what it is. Freaks of Nature is an excellent, nearly Livgren-less Kansas album, and Always Never the Same is a masterpiece for many reasons I have detailed elsewhere. If neither are available but this is, the reader may knock the proverbial two birds, providing he is willing to spare potentially several dollars on the stone. Considering the material, this is an excellent acquisition, but the two individual albums are preferable.
