Collaborators/Experts Reviews

Review by snobb
SPECIAL COLLABORATOR Honorary Collaborator
2 stars Even in their best times (in early 70-s) Passport weren't too progressive or experimental. This their album is coming from early 80-s, and are the product of it's time. Klaus Doldinger is here with his sax, but the sound is nearest to Candy Dulfer's.

Mid tempo melodic, often cheese, instrumental pieces could sound good as soundtrack to TV series. Music is relaxed, still with many jazz fusion attributes, but even with no traces of progressivity. Surprisingly, there is still some drumming or keyboards moments in music which can attract the listener, but openly simplistic and cheese-old fashioned sax kills every hope. Being active for some last decades Passport/Klaus Doldinger explores field of (mostly German) conservative small orchestras scene, with many works for TV, soundtracks, etc. You will hardly find any traces of prog fusion in their music.
