4 stars If you want to make the point with Conrad Schnitzler's very prolific discography and if you have heard none of these albums, this compilation can be seen as great start. You can find everything which makes Schnitzler's musical universe so atypical and original. Recorded during the 70's, the collection of compositions is largely made of electronic collages and first synth experiments. The ambience is very cerebral, hypnotic and spheric. This is a global electronic meditation which guides you into an other galaxy. The man who is also a multi-media artist perfectly knows how to play with the different moods to penetrate our mental structure and make us leave our physical world. A music which has real psycho-acoustic capacities on the listener. Schnitzler's music has really more in common with Morton Subotnick, Tod Dockstader, Phil Niblock and others searchers in avant garde than what we usually call prog rock music. However this is "authentic" avant prog music!
