Finland biography
FINLAND are a Norwegian (yes, contrary to what the band name suggests they're not Finnish) post rock quartet, consisting of guitarist Ivar GRYDELAND (HUNTSVILLE), drummer Pål HAUSKEN (IN THE COUNTRY), keyboardist Morten QVENILD (IN THE COUNTRY, SPACEMONKEY, SUSANNA & THE MAGICAL ORCHESTRA) and bassist Jo BERGER MYHRE (SPLASHGIRL, Nils Petter MOLVÆR), all seasoned players on the Norwegian jazz scene.

The band was founded in 2010, but didn't release their debut album until 2015. On "Rainy Omen" they explore music of a more rock-oriented nature than what the individual members usually involve themselves in in their other projects.

According to their label, Hubro, "the band project has come about more as a result of excess enthusiasm than of necessity - and musical enthusiasm is, in fact, what charachterises this debut release". This musical enthusiasm shows in the freedom the band members have given themselves to play with different sounds, resulting in an energetic and eclectic post rock offering in their so far only album, a melting pot of genres that includes instrumental film music, krautrock, free jazz, Americana and indie rock.
