Founded in Cologne, Germany in 2008

CHAPEL OF DISEASE is a Cologne, Germany based progressive death metal band that was founded in 2008. At their inception, the band played straightforward death metal in the vein of classic bands such as early Death and PESTILENCE. MORBID ANGEL can also be seen as an influence, considering that their moniker combines two MORBID ANGEL songs, Angel of Disease and Chapel of Ghouls. Their split single with LIFELESS called Chapel of a Lifeless Cult and their 2012 debut Summoning Black Gods reflects those old-school death metal influences. In 2015, they released their sophomore full-length, The Mysterious Ways of Repetitive Art, displaying a more adventurous take on death metal, utilizing influences from black metal and focusing on more epic length material with some atmospheric passages. For their 2018 album, ...and as We Have Seen the Storm, We Have Embraced the Eye, the band had evolved into a unique outfit which blends in strong psychedelic influences into their sound, resulting in an unusual swirling style of extreme metal.

The band members are Christian KRIEGER on bass, David DANKERT on drums, Cedric TEUBL on guitars, and Laurent TEUBL on guitars and vocals.
