Good Tiger biography
GOOD TIGER is a progressive metal supergroup founded in 2015 and based in London UK, though comprised of artists from the UK and the US. The band is made up of the two guitarists formerly from THE SAFETY FIRE, Derya NAGLE and Jaquin ARDILES who are also joined by Elliot COLEMAN (ex-TESSERACT) on vocals, Morgan SINCLAIR (touring guitarist for ARCHITECTS) on bass and Alex RUDINGER (ex-THE FACELESS) on drums.

When a crowdfunded page announced the formation of the supergroup, they were able to raise $18,000 in 24 hours, which was a convincing testament from the fans of the bands that were represented in this new group. The band released their debut "A Head Full of Moonlight" that same year, followed that up with the album "We Will All Be Gone" in 2018, and then released their third album "Raised in a Doomsday Cult" on August 7, 2020, all of which garnered the band a lot of respect from critics and fans.

Their style is a dynamic, alternative metal that adds in swatches of technical and progressive traits. Earlier albums tend to have a slightly emo edge to them with COLEMAN's vocals, but lately they have tapered that style off and have become more progressive.

Their style should appeal to fans of THE MARS VOLTA, THE CONTORTIONIST, GREYHAVEN, PERIPHERY, THE SAFETY FIRE, TESSERACT and PLINI among others.

— First review of this album —
3 stars My first inclination when I heard this band was not, "Oh, Progressive Metal!" There is a very specific technicality that is immediately apparent: talented, and in this case, well experienced, musicians playing heavy but dynamic music. The other thing, as mentioned in the artist bio, is the clear post-hardcore-backed slant to their music ("emo" is mentioned, I would say only somewhat rightly here).

This could appeal to fans of Coheed And Cambria, at times Protest The Hero (in the vocals department specifically, yet not as dramatic), The Contortionist, Periphery, but also fans of Alt Metal and Post-Hardcore (after, say, 1995). I have to admit, of all things, I'm not too drawn to Prog Metal, so this is generally not my wheelhouse.

Tracks most of note to me are the opener, "Where Are the Birds", "I Paint What I See", and "'67 Firebird".

Thanks to tcat for the artist addition.
