DRIFTIN'LINE is a Progressive Metal Band formed in 2006 from an idea of keyboardist and composer Valerio CITTA, the band began its activity as "SECRET INSIDE" and was made up of a group of friends who played progressive metal for fun. After the release of a demo, which has received much acclaim, Valerio contacts other musicians to create a live show and meets Guido MACAIONE (former singer of the band CRIMSONWIND and student of Michele LUPPI) with whom he forms a strong friendship. Then the band changed its name to DRIFTIN'LINE and, despite a series of line-up changes, from 2016 to 2020 worked hard to produce the debut album.

In 2021 the band signed with Underground Symphony Records and officially entered the label's roster. The band released their debut album "Born As Slaves We Die Free" on September 23, 2021 with the line-up of Valeria CITTA (vocals, keyboards), Guido MACAIONE (vocals), Francesca POLIZZANO (vocals), Angelo CAPUANA (Guitars), Walter MOGAVERO (Guitars), Enrico MACAIONE (guitars), Vincenzo CAMMARATA (bass), and Giacomo CANNICI (drums). The album, a 12-track concept, deals with a not simple and unfortunately very current theme: war. The events involve two characters, Krag (G. MACAIONE) and Liberty (F. POLIZZANO), and a Narrator (V. CITTA) who accompanies the listener in the desperate search for the salvation of the protagonists, until an unexpected ending that knows how to surprise.
