Queso Sagrado biography
El Queso Sagrado (The Sacred Cheese), a mythic band from the early 1970's, is considered by many the first experimental progressive band from Mexico.

The band existed from 1974 - 1981 and recorded only a few tracks that wouldn't be released until a 2019 compilation album was released on the Kathmandu label.

The band worked alongside the theater director Abraham Oceransky with various musicals including Ape, Deus Machina, Frankenstein and The Death of a Sunflower amongst others.

Both band leader Alex Eisenring and Carlos Vivanco would continue in the Mexican prog band Decibel. Eisenring also formed the band Syntoma.

The band was known for its eclectic performances that consisted of progressive rock, gypsy jazz and electronica.
