Empires biography
EMPIRES is a Post Metal band from Minnesota formed in 2005 by Jim Kreager (guitar), Andy Schoengrund (guitar), Kevin McCauley (drums) and Brian Ince (bass). In 2006 they released a self-released promo that only featured 3 songs. Later in 2007 they released their debut EP entitled "Through Trial and Tribulation Comes Triumph" through Deep Send Records. After these events the band signed to Saw Her Ghost Records and re-released their debut EP. In 2008 they started working on a split alongside Hellas Mounds.

Empires describe their music as a "blend of melody-laden doom conjuring up feelings of a bittersweet hopelessness."
