QUINTESSENZA is an Italian progressive metal band from Volterra, Italy consisting of Diego Ribechini (vocals), Gabriele "GabbeQnz" Moretti (guitar, e-bow), Federico Razzi (bass, chapman's stick), Filippo Fantozzi (keyboards), and Federico "Dede" dello Sbarba (drums). The band has been together since 1996 and have self released a demo "Venere" (2000), two full length cds: "Pharmakon" (2004) and "Cosmogenesi" (2006). The band is influenced by two distinct aspects of progressive music: The first, the metal of bands like DREAM THEATER and PAIN OF SALVATION and secondly, the sounds and vocal styling of bands like BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO, PFM, and AREA.
