HOMESICK FOR SPACE

Homesick for Space biography
US outfit HOMESICK FOR SPACE was formed just after the millennium, following the demise of another band - I, Robot. Peter Bisso (vocals, guitar, piano), Patrick DeRiso (drums, guitar) and Eric Talesnick (guitars, bass) hooked up with Rich Berta (bass, piano, guitars) to form this new venture. A relocation to New York followed, and in 2001 the first result of this fresh outfit appeared, a self-titles 5 track EP.

Their EP was recorded live in studio, which was fitting for this act. It was as live peformers they thrived, and the EP captured this aspect of their sound pretty well.

Two years down the line their first full length effort Unison was issued in 2003, described as a blend of Radiohead, Sigur Ros and Coldplay.

In 2004 line-up changes happened to this as so many other bands, as Talesnick left, replaced by Justin Parnofiello (guitars, piano, trumpet, harmonica, flute) and Tom Carley (bass). The latest to be heard from the band was that they had started recording a new album, but apparently they folded before it could be released. What appears to be an album's length of unreleased compositions by this band has been rumoured to exist, but so far these haven't been officially available.
