INTO THE PRESENCE

Into the Presence biography
US outfit INTO THE PRESENCE is a collaboration between long time friends Tim Alexander (drums) and Luis Maldonado (vocals, guitars). The duo has been in contact with each other and doing the odd minor collaboration here and there for more than a decade, but without any substantial results until relatively resecently.

Things did move ahead when Alexander bought a lot of vintage analogue equipment for his studio, and he called up Maldonado to ask if they could do something using these newly installed gadgets. As Maldonado at time had a growing need to do something with the compositions he had been working with over the years, they started work on what would eventually lead to an album.

Using an all analogue approach, to the point of making studio recordings on tape, an album started taking shape. Paz Lenchantin (bass) got involved to deliver the bass, while the track My Only Crime was given cellist enhancement courtesy of Ana Lenchantin. Alexander and Maldonado contributed everything else on this debut effort.

Whether or not this will be a one off project or a more durable partnership is uncertain though. Alexander and Maldonado both have other commitments, and it was due to a rare occurence when they both had spare time simultanously that lead to this production.
