The Atlas Moth biography
THE ATLAS MOTH are a progressive metal band from Chicago, Illinois.
Following a string of EPs in 2008 and 2010, as well as a full length in 2009, THE ATLAS MOTH were signed to Profound Lore Records and had their first official release in the form of their sophomore full-length, An Ache for a Distance, in September 2011.
THE ATLAS MOTH play a very heavy brand of sludge metal that is deeply infused in 60's blues and psychedelia. Highly influenced by the likes of early sludge/doom bands like BLACK SABBATH and TROUBLE, THE ATLAS MOTH stand alongside contemporaries like BARONESS, KYLESA, MASTODON, and ZOROASTER in proving to be a modern metal band with a strong appreciation for classic prog rock and modern experimental tendencies, blending the two with their own impressive dish of heavy, rocking sludge metal.
