Fitnes biography
FITNES is a heavy progressive rock band formed in Popecitelji, Serbia in 2003. The band is a project of the FURONOVIC brothers, who fused a mixture of funk rock with a style of aggressive and progressive punk rock. They oft don't stop there however. They frequently dabble in genres as far reaching as post-rock, funk, blues, and traditional Yugoslavian rock. The music is inventive to say the least, and the band has become known in their area for their energetic and exciting live performances as well. The band is comprised of brothers Sasa, Goran, and Alexander FURONOVIC (guitar, bass, and drums, respectively) and Acom Pejcicem (keyboards).
The band's debut EP, Udarci i Varnice was released in January of 2011 to a positive critical appeal. The EP is a free download from the online label Popboks.

Fitnes Heavy Prog

3 stars 3.5 stars. FITNES are a Heavy-Prog band out of Serbia and this is their debut, an EP released in 2011. The music is all instrumental and somewhat samey I guess. It's an enjoyable 26 minutes regardless but I just can't pull the trigger on 4 stars for this.

"Talas" opens with a great sounding section of bass and drums before it turns fuller and settles in. "Fitnes Duhova" has a fairly heavy rhythm and some organ comes in before 2 minutes. "Omladina Jedan" has this catchy rhythm that is quite heavy.

"Sree" is the heaviest yet and it's once again uptempo and catchy. "Udarci I Varnice" is brighter but again uptempo and catchy. Organ late to end it. "Elektricno Kolo" ends the EP with some nice deep, chunky bass as it builds.

A good album and a band to watch out for. Recommended to fans of heavy instrumental music.

Thanks to bonnek for the artist addition.
