Crematorium biography
CREMATORIUM are a Russian band led nearly thirty years by guitarist, vocalist and lyricist Armen Grigoryan. The group was formed in 1983 by classmates Grigoryan and Victor Abramovich Troegubov from the remnants of Soviet band ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE. The group claims influences ranging from FRANK ZAPPA to the GRATEFUL DEAD, and have released fifteen studio album and numerous live records and compilations since then.

Troegubov departed the band to form SMOKE in 1988 but returned in the early nineties before reforming SMOKE in 1994. While the group has undergone several lineup changes over the years Grigoryan has remained in front of the band throughout its existence.

CREMATORIUM's music features a unique blend of rock and folk-inspired, often acoustic sounds. Their discography includes concept albums such as 'Zombie' as well as acoustic 'unplugged' recordings and other music often reflecting tastes of the times.
