4 stars QTAB has been released as BABILS' second album and at the same time as a creation recorded with some flexible jam session material launched by the fantasista sextet.

Through the whole QTAB world, mellow and meditative keyboard plays, quirky sound / noise effects, and quite a crazy, avantgarde rhythm party veiled with fuzzy, funky, flat guitar bullets here and there, can let me feel like I'd enjoyed rollercoaster rolling into dark psychedelia without any bright doors to outside. Mysteriously cannot feel stability under such a stable rhythm, for example, in the latter part of Track 1, as though BABILS all would play flexibly with floating upon the boundless sea. Etienne's deep drumming reminds me something like Hal Blaine under Phil Spector's Wall Of Sound. Gabriel's freak-out voices with effects and machinery kicks - sometimes like ripples and sometimes like huge waves - grab our brain directly. Simultaneously another electronic sandstorms created their twin guitars attack us, and Lukas' gold trumpet fingers wash out stomach with boiled sound coffee. Some gaps among their instrumental shots are pretty comfortable for us in their persistent psychedelia too.

Their sound depth can sometimes blow us with some Zeuhl-ish eccentricity, and weird experimentalism deeply in their mind can remind us dark Krautrock like Siloah or Zippo Zetterlink. Over 45 minutes should never be long and boring for you I'm sure. Leave yourself to their sound fate, and you will find another fantasy named QTAB.

Thanks to DamoXt7942 for the artist addition.
