Paranormal Activity biography
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY is a progressive metal band from Ukraine formed in January 1999. Initially formed as QUADRO DIABLOS the (then) quartet recorded a 2-track rehearsal-demo including the tracks 'Three Minute Silence' and 'Shadow'. The initial line-up of the band consisted of Artiom MAKLAKOV (keyboards, ex-KARZER, ex-ROAD PIZZA), Anatoliy POLOVNIKOV (drums, ex-GENITAL GRINDER, ex-KARZER, ex-LICANTHROPIA, ex-ROAD PIZZA, ex-LEPROZORIY, ex-ENTRAILS, ex-POSTORONNIM V), Denis MELNIKOV (guitars, ex-IVAN KUPALA, ex-LICANTROPIA, ex-YRATOR IFOS, ex- MISTERIA, LEA.DER, FUSION-ORCHESTRA) and Alexander VETROGON (bass, ex-LICANTROPIA, ex-HEATHER WASTELAND). With the addition of a 5th member, Eugene POPOV (vocals, guitars, ex-STATE TEXA, ex-ATRIBUTIKA (a.k.a. ANTIDRIVE), YRATOR IFOS, ShAM, FUSION-ORCHESTRA) they changed their name to PARANORMAL ACTIVITY. However in the autumn of 2000 MELNIKOV left the band and PARANORMAL ACTIVITY returned to a four-piece; replacing him in the cover photos of the band is now an extra-terrestrial figure (!).

In 2004 PARANORMAL ACTIVITY self-released their debut ''Mind Brothers'' and in 2006 ''Light Refraction'' followed up. Their debut album was re-recorded in 2008 and released as ''Remind Brothers'' with the addition of bonus tracks. The end result of their sound is an interesting (mostly instrumental) modern keyboard-driven progressive metal in the vein of DREAM THEATER.
