Antalgia biography
ANTALGIA is a symphonic progressive metal band from Lleida, Spain. The band was formed in late 2008 by the guitarist Igna JOVER as a metal cover band. 2009 saw some early band written material, but there was a difficulty of finding committed musicians in the little city of Lleida, which meant that the recordings of their first album was delayed until May 2010.

The first demo called "Persuasion" was released digitally on August 2010 through the band's website as a free download, containing three original prog metal compositions that were mastered by Mika JUSSILA at Finnvox. ANTALGIA began to work on their stage performance craft in early 2010 and received a positive reception from the audience, anxious to hear even more original material from the band.

The band began to record their first album in early 2011 under the title "Perception Of Reality", but due to some personal reasons the release had to be delayed until mid 2012. The debut album was released on October 12th, 2012 featuring a very distinct symphonic metal sound with strong progressive tendencies. ANTALGIA followed up their release with a one month long tour as the supporting act for THERION's 25th anniversary European tour.
