Compound Eye are an American progressive electronic duo based in New York City, consisting of former Coil collaborator Drew McDowall and Psychic Ills bassist Tres Warren. The project released two albums and one single of their experimental improvisational music which, in the label's description, "employ[s] automatic composition, drone and concréte music to create subterranean explorations on the nature of signals and time."

Compound Eye's abstract and psychedelic electronics will certainly attract fans of later Coil (particularly Time Machines), as well as UnicaZürn, Teleplasmiste, Labradford, Cyclobe and Bee Mask.

"Origin of Silence" (2012)

"Compound Eye" single (2013) (You'll have to boost your volume for these, it's a poor vinyl rip and I can upload a better version at the mods' request)

"Journey from Anywhere" (2013)

Hi. Hope you are safe as well! Thanks for the suggestion. We'll check them out. I'm seeing on RYM the tags are drone, ambient, electronic so we'll have to see :)

Hi Gordy
We have recently updated the program with regards to this part of the forum
It’s here: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=122558
Just in case your suggestion gets through..be prepared to write up a wee biography as well as coming up with a proper picture of the band.

Thank you, S_P, so far so stable here in Ohio. I hope you find them an enjoyable listen.

And thanks for the heads up, Guldbamsen. I am happy to do the heavy lifting should they be accepted. Whatever happened to Sheavy/Skirdge, though? They were a big inspiration, exposing me to the more occult and eclectic corners of prog electronics.

Any news on their evaluation? Found an official band pic and have a rough bio at the ready.

I've now updated my original post with a custom bio, band photo and complete streaming discography.

It would be nice to know one way or the other about the eligibility of my suggestions instead of simply ignoring them. I have lots of interesting PSIKE artist bios I'm working on but when my posts languish like this it makes me discouraged to attempt anything in the future.

Yes, they are currently being evaluated. Sometimes suggestions aren't seen right away. Many of us can't come here every day and when we do we often get pulled in other directions. I try to jump on the properly formatted suggestions right away JRF and Eclectic, but that can't always be the case.

Thank you, I appreciate it. My paranoia has just been flaring recently as I've been feeling unheard and unseen as of late in personal and professional matters (and some of my suggestions have indeed been ignored before due to an assumed lack of prog content). I try to never lose sight that the administrators are busy like me and have much to juggle in real life (as it is, I've been able to work from home a lot more since the start of the plague thus have more room to write and submit suggestions than I have in years).

As always, I hope you enjoy the music regardless if you think they're prog.

EDIT: I also updated the link for Journey from Anywhere to Spotify as the original Bandcamp page only had one song available for streaming.

After much tribulation, they're finally here.
