Band from Texas, very hard to classify. Classical influences, wide range of odd instruments, experimental/ambient moments, dramatic changes in sound from one track to the next, a very accomplished, serious approach to proceedings. Check excellent 2008 album Rook.

They don't sound like Split Enz but they seem to occupy a similar space between genres- it's almost intelligent yet conventional adult pop but there's something a bit 'other' about it and every now and then there's a real curveball. And Split Enz are on PA so...
