Hey Prog Metal guys, just passing on a suggestion of an Italian band that certainly doesn’t fit in with RPI! Moto Armonico are a prog/metal band from Italy that are very molded on the Dream Theater style of progressive metal, with confident English vocals, and even a lot of their harmonies and arrangements are very influenced by that band. However, as their debut album carries on, their own sound starts to emerge more, and there’s some very cool playing and ideas to be found.

Their debut album `Down To Timavo’ was released in April on the Andromeda Relix label, a collection of 12 tracks that range in length from just under two minutes to almost 14 minutes. They describe their album as follows:

“Down to Timavo” is a musical journey inside, in the darkness and the light of the soul. The caves of the river Timavo represent the darkest point, the root of evil and at the same time the solution to overcome it and emancipate oneself”

Line-up:
Luca Adami - vocals
Uccio Ghezzer - guitars
Christian Pasin - keyboards
Giampi Tomezzoli - bass
Alessandro Veronesi - drums

Some clips from the album:

(a very slick promo video that one!)

and the whole album can be streamed here:

Should some group decide to evaluate the band, I have the CD and can probably help with any additional details.

Thanks!

Yes, quite nice - it's a soft prog-metal sound that I am hearing, should be enough, thanks

Cool, Athanasios, I definitely thought it was properly `metal' enough as oppossed to simply `heavy prog'!
