Topic: Anathema, Katatonia, Seigmen, the Gathering Posted: October 07 2013 at 05:01 |
the showdown of the bands who defines atmospheric doom, sludge, gothic metal from early 90s bands who always beleeved in change in sound.
I just think these bands are very compareable in style, time of "birth" year and in stylistic changes.

I have albums from Katatonia, Anathema, & The Gathering. Never heard of the other band.
I like those 3 bands in small doses but they aren't something I'd listen to all night long.
Katatonia might be my fav of the 3, I saw them live opening for Opeth and they were pretty boring, quite frankly. You could call them shoe-gaze because that's all they did was stare at their shoes the whole set.

Never head of Seigme, but anyway I votefor Anathema. Katatonia are great but I prefer their death/doom era,

you might be supriesed by Seigmen ole, no bands quite like them, but they are compared to Katatonia and have toured with the Gathering in 95-96.

Anathema

When he rides, my fears subside. For darkness turns once more to light. Through the skies, his white horse flies. To find a land beyond the night.
