Cynic. Renaissance is too pretty for my tastes (may just be Annie's vocals).

Cynic are pretty good, but I vastly prefer Athiest. As one of the few torch-bearing tech/extreme types that participate on this forum, I actually prefer Renaissance, mainly for Prologue & Ashes Are Burning. I'm just going to abstain from voting as it won't be needed I'm sure.

I like what I am hearing from Cynic and is likely one thing I'll take from this silliness..  exploring them further.

but Renaissance it is. Not exactly my preferred style of music, Cynic may well be more so, but some of what Renaissance did truly is some beautiful and amazing stuff.

I actually like the original line-up of Renaissance but Cynic are slightly more appealing to me than even it.

Renaissance. And I won't even add a hint of cynicism.
