Easy one for me too: Radiohead.
Never found anything really original in PT, apart from the mix of their influences.

An easy choice for me too. Porcupine Tree are wired for sound in this poll, whereas Radiohead sound no better than OK on my Computer. Ermm

It's kind of hard to vote against what is probably one of the first songs about the internet. Karma Police is good too. I'll have to think about it.

With, of course, Radiohead being a significant influence. Derivative of its influences or not, I actually very much like this PT song (may be my favourite PT I have heard). While I like OK Computer and Radiohead very much generally, and that is a popular Radiohead song, it's never been one of my preferred Radiohead songs. Still, giving it to Radiohead, but I could go for both.

Steven Wilson himself mentioned to me that Radiohead were an influence. However, this PT track came out before this Radiohead song. With that in mind I can only assume that the Radiohead influence came after the Signify album.

I've read that too. Radiohead's 1995 The Bends came earlier than Signify (1996), as did its 1993 debut. I have read that The Bends was an influence on Steven Wilson. He directly references it in the song Pure Narcotic on Stupid Dream, by the way, which of course came out after Signify.

Isolated Karma Police isn't anywhere near being a favorite of mine. But it's still a brilliant song and an essential part of a great album. The Porcupine Tree-song is kind of nice, but I care so much more for just about any Radiohead song/album (post The Bends) - so its a no brainer for me.

Radiohead just about. I like them both. But then both are some way behind my favourites of both bands.

I cannot listen to Radiohead: the vocals are utterly revolting and there's little in the music to inspire me.
I enjoy some PT but, overall, I find them to be a band that I can easily do without as there are far too many good bands to occupy my listening time.
So neither. 2 songs I have no desire ever to hear again
