It was recorded for Genesis To Revelation.
Once you get past King's clunky production it's a great little song - not really the Bee Gees pop pastiche people paint it as.

Nice link, Dean, thanks. I've always liked that song. In addition, Genesis were always more than the debut Bee Gees pop pastiche they were made out to be in god knows how many articles. That's why they went on to be so successful and creative.

It is normal in a prog forum that the most members would choose tracks mostly from the 70ies Genesis era.
But if you have to elect only songs from the 80ies and 90ies, what are your faves?
Or should I expect a prog cliche, that a "real prog nerd" doesn't listen to the pop music era of Genesis? Tongue

I love pop music, I just don't like Genesis's version of pop music. I don't mind Collins singing, though it's a little one-dimensional, but I did miss Hackett's contribution - so from And Then There Were Three onwards I just didn't enjoy listening to them. Nothing "real prog" about that - if Genesis with Gabriel and Hackett had recorded an album of Abba, Bananarama, Beyonce, Duran Duran, Bay City Rollers, Lady Gaga, Take That and Mad Donna covers I'd probably love it - but with only Rutherford, Collins and Banks? No Thanks.
What?

Nice point of view - Lady Gaga together with Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett. LOL But the idea is quite good, that has never been done - an actual Progband or supergroud like Transatlantic should cover a bunch of successfull popsongs in progstyle with oddtime signatures and extened solos....

A while back on another forum I listed my top 50 Genesis tracks, in order.  Thought I'd share them here.  Just consider #11 - #50 to be "off topic" if you're a stickler for adhering to thread topics.  I figured it would be much more annoying to start a new thread (Top 50 Genesis Tracks) when the basic topic's been raised several times already.

3. Dancing with the Moonlit Knight
4. Down and Out
5. Turn it On Again
