I realize that this warrants some explanation...

First of all, this is definitely not an attack on anyone- people who use drugs, people who don't, Tool fans, or people who don't like Tool.  I am a bit curious if there is some kind of correlation, particularly since I think Tool is such a hot topic.  It seems that people on both sides tend to be pretty passionate about their opinion, and that is my reason for choosing Tool.

We all know that drug experiences will change a persons life.  I am just curious to see if there is some kind of correlation between using drugs and liking Tool.  I may end up using the results for a psychology class eventually, BTW.

Thanks for your time to satisfy my curiosity and feel free to discuss at will.

- No drugs, never will be drugs
- Like Tool a bit, not in love with them like many people here
- You can come up with statistics to prove anything. 14% of all people know that!

As I said, my reason for choosing this band is that people are so passionate about liking or disliking them.  Many of the fans will get extremely defensive or mad when people don't like them and many of those who don't like them will post something similar to the above.  Well that and Tool being my favorite band probably had something to do with it.

edit- Also, if the poll shows that most who like Tool use drugs you may be onto something, although I'm not out to prove anything.

edit 2 - BTW, if you don't like the band thats fine, cast your vote, discuss it, but I don't see any need to insult those who like it.

I haven't gotten into Tool yet, but I don't think I would like them, so I voted no for Tool and no for drugs.

Well, the obvious reason against choosing Tool for such a poll is: They don't have any particular relation to drugs. A band like the Ozric Tentacles would have been a far better choice ...

^ Well, that's not entirely true. Listen to the Bill Hicks clip at the beginning of "Third Eye" on Ænima...

(I'm abstaining from this poll)

Yeah I knew it was a strange topic.

I've actually always thought Tool was an extremely drug oriented band.  For example the samples at the beginning of Third Eye.  Also, when Alex Grey was asked about the leaf that turns into a flaming eye in the Parabola video, he said it represented psychoactive herbs.  The Gaping Lotus Experience was supposedly recorded on an acid trip.  The band will even openly talk about their drug experiences in interviews and whatnot.  So even though many say that Pink Floyd, for example, is drug oriented, they really haven't mentioned drugs.

All the people I know that like Tool in real life have done drugs.  I was thinking that most everyone who listens to Tool does drugs, and so I posted a poll.  Also I have an upcoming Psychology report on drugs and it would be cool to show some statistics like that (my psych. teacher likes Tool).

Thanks to everyone who has voted.

I'm not sure about drugs, but to appreciate Tool you definitely need to be able to know how to write in your native language.
