everyone knows the cheesiest track of all time is "the final countdown" by Europe, but what is the most cheesiest track in the prog world?

These tracks i've chosen have some of the cheesiest vocals, synth and solos i've ever heard!

Thanks to Metropolis for helping me compile this list, we would have included symphony X and ELP but it was too difficult to narrow down their cheesyness to one song, same with IQ and Marillion.

Note: just cos i think these songs are chessy dont mean i think they are bad, except mr roboto, big generator. Another day and Silent lucidity are immense! The rest are... okay...

Second Love by PoS i find unbelievably cheesy, also Spock's Beard have alot of cheese (they are great though), i couldn't possibly suggest just one, but Wind at my Back, Carie and All on a Sunday have all gotta be up there.

Also Sing it High from Neal Morse's Testimony is an extraordinarily cheesy song from a generally cheesy album.

From Symphony X, Evolution (The Grand Design) came immediately to my mind, but Egypt and Smoke and Mirrors would also be suitable choices.

Golf Girl from Caravan would also be contender i feel

I know they're not a prog band, but dammit... nobody is allowed to be more cheesy than Manowar.

Blind Guardian are power metal, and no power metal band is cheesier than Dragonforce

Katatonia are doom metal, but they aren't cheesy really

Out of those, it has to be Another Day... I mean that sax solo is horrendous, ugh!

Apart from DT, pretty much all Neo-Prog, ProgMetal and Power Metal is incredibly cheesy. There are exceptions of course.

QUOTE]

I don't know, they did do the stereotypical 80's metal band with a song that had a commanding synth riff (I.E. Van Halen 'Jump')pretty well...

Yes - Roundabout
Genesis - Cinema Show
ELP - Almost everything

God, if New Order's Blue Monday is an atrocity, and Close To The Edge is a masterpiece, dude, let's say hurray for the atrocities!

And above all, is punk

Genesis More Fool Me, how could they dare to ruin an excellent album with that boring ballad?

Cheesy = Corny
"Mister Fripp, your music is quite different than everything else out there. In one word, how would you describe it?"

"Progressive.... yeah, that's it..."
