Cygnus, the DT review is marginal. It does make a brief comment on the content but, I've contacted the reviewer.

Garion, yes, abuse of the site, deleted.

Cygnus, agree, the comments in the review would be better discussed in the forum.

Thanks all for reporting, I'm checking every new review anyway.Wink

It's an arrow to the post above. In turn, it's the lazy man's way of clicking the quote button. But only works if the post is directly above the one you are writing.

Now I could have put instead of the quote:

Get it?

It doesn't tell you much about the album - the review is rather about prog vs. non-prog, or a little more specific Phil Collins aera Genesis vs. Early Genesis.

GENESIS Invisible Touch progressive rock album and reviews GENESIS - Invisible Touch (1986)
Review (Permanent link) by colorado hurricane @ 9:09:28 PM EST, 7/26/2005
3 stars  —   O.K. So it's not a prog rock album by any stretch of the imagination. But it is a decent POP album(and as some other reviewer has already said- not all good music is prog).

And besides, here's a thought: Maybe one of these many pre-teen buyers (as someone called them) bought this album, started liking Genesis(the then-current Phil Collins Genesis that is) decided to buy some of their earlier albums and got turned on to what most of us consider the "real "Genesis" and maybe even started liking Prog in general simply because of "Invisible Touch". Strange, but I'm sure this scenario has actually happened somewhere on earth-probably several times.

As a prog album, it sux. As a pop album, it's not bad.

EMERSON LAKE & PALMER (ELP) - Brain Salad Surgery (1973)
Review (Permanent link) by hannoll ramond @ 7:00:05 PM EST, 7/26/2005
2 stars  —   absolutely e.l.p's finest hour of bin material ever produced, awful but then I'm just a twerp that sits writing on the silhobbit guestbook all day so what would I know? Snilths like me only like music for queers. And this is too straight for my liking.

DREAM THEATER Octavarium progressive rock album and reviews DREAM THEATER - Octavarium (2005)
Review (Permanent link) by Patrick Albouy @ 10:50:58 PM EST, 7/26/2005
5 stars  —   US By the Paris France.

The last time I remember a group innovative was back in Europe with two bands that are still on the chart Tangerine Dream and Pink Floyd....

The last piece of this CD as a feel of Pink Floyd in a fantastic way. It is a exquisite piece of music from Dream Theater. If they continue this way, the world of music will have found the replacement for a band that I miss and Dream theater are the right band to replace and fill and empty space in heart. Thank you...

Patrick

When I have to delete them Manunkind, I send an e-mail to the person concerned, explaining why it was deleted. Hopefully this will help them submit others which meet the guidelines.Wink

Thank you, Easy Livin. Seems that deleting (non)reviews here could become a full-time job.

I can understand the criticism of GEE BERTHON's review to some extent, as the use of abbreviations is tiresome. Once you get past those though, it's OK. I don't think English is his/her first language, so a little latitude is reasonable.

4 stars  —   i jump on the occasion to give my opinion on a few things about dt, in the sense that this album is been overrewied and that nothing new could be said...

ok lets start by mp: the sound of drum is a change of season defenetly, the best "riff" would be 6 o'clock. the overall performance (all albums) is anyway outstanding.

jp: the lead of under a glass moon, the performance on scenes from m, the sound quality on 6degrees...

jm: the sound on awake, the riff on about to crash, the unbelievable endurance all along sfm2, the rearrangement of trial of tears lead on budokan dvd...

km: well, mainly his lyrics always touched me very much (wait 4 sleep, lie) the lead of take the time....

jr: he is pretty much perfect on any side im just a little bit disappointed by tot (and he looks much better now him and mp doing the show on budokan dvd really)...

jl: awake and a change of season are is best vocals work, he just cant reach that any more (especially the ".. you can tell yours step father i said so.." on lie...
What the hell is this?

This is a very intellegent, well thought out review. Wait...i'm confusing what i said with complete rubbish.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Review (Permanent link) by Macca @ 12:17:24 PM EST, 7/24/2005

1 stars  —  OK...please let me start..by telling you, that i actually think that DREAM THEATER are a bunch of very talented musicians....and i do like some of their albums !!BUT...this one.... ahem..are ..how should i put it....a boring outlet..there, i said it !! With a talent-mass like this..it is really beyond me...how they can put out..something so..."going thru´the motions" like !! I miss the heart..the soul..the deep felt themes in the songs. And they are quite capable of delivering that, just not on this release !!
