Well first Marco posted a Seal of Derp on a shred, which Tony didn't like (at all)
Then a newbie posted a thread explaining why Radiohead was prog, and a bunch of shredders jumped on the opportunity to bash the sh*t out of him, which none of the admins liked (look at the Forum Abuse thread in the CZ for Dean's nice comments). 
Other sh*tstormy events swirled around that.
