^ No worries, thanks for mentioning. It can be harder to see the entries when listed like this, unlike my usual way of alphabetising by artist/ band name. It's something I wanted to try based on the principle that I tend to follow, and I have seen others do too, where I prefer to try to vote for and comment on one in a list if I can (and comment on if I don't know or like anything in a list) and then also mention other particular favourites. I find that can help with making it a bit more interactive, conversational, and sociable and lead to more thoughtfulness in the responses. I tend to more details-oriented than some and don't tend to treat polls like fast food in a way I might say. Like to hear about others not in the list anyway. :)

I am lucky to have had the opportunity, time and passion to listen to plenty of releases for every year from the 60s up other than 2025. Still, some here listen to way more new-to-them music than I do. A loved album will get mnay plays from me. A month and a half in and I have heard one album from this year so far (Squid's latest). The ones that excite me the most tend to be albums I have listened to over the last few years, and I have discovered a lot more during the past five or so years. Clivages is my album of the year in 2010, but it's not one I have played much in recent years.

------------

On another note, since I am not planning to continue this series for some time, but here are the top ten right now of my Awesome Prog lists for 2009 and 2008.

1. Natural Snow Buildings - Daughter of Darkness
2. Magma - Ëmëhntëhtt-Rę
3. St. Vincent - Actor [AP Non-Prog]
4. The Antlers - Hospice [AP]
5. Natural Snow Buildings - Shadow Kingdom
6. John Frusciante - The Empyrean [AP Non-Prog]
7. Aranis - Songs from mirage
8. Matt Berry - Witchazel [AP Prog-Adj]
9. The Decemberists - The Hazards Of Love
10. Sweet Trip - You Will Never Know Why [AP Prog]

1. Portishead - Third [AP Prog]
2. Isengrind / TwinSisterMoon / Natural Snow Buildings - The Snowbringer Cult [AP Prog-Adj]
3. Kayo Dot - Blue Lambency Downward
4. Juana Molina - Un día [AP Prog]
5. Rational Diet - At Work
6. Guapo - Elixirs
7. Secret Chiefs 3 - Book of Angels, Vol 9: Xaphan
8. Elephant9 - Dodovoodoo
9. Big Blood - Big Blood & The Bleedin' Hearts [AP Non-Prog]
10. Birds and Buildings - Bantam To Behemoth

I do hope more put up lists there. I'd rather see a few lists from some people I enjoy interacting with at the forum than the lists of a hundred strangers often. :)

Not very familiar with this year, so I voted for Other:

Areknamés - In Case of Loss...

Edit: Could have voted for Clivages, but I overlooked it. Sorry .

I have a strong top five from the poll with Xing Sa and Invisible Opera Company of Tibet being the favoured of those. The others are Frogg Cafe, Anathema and Agalloch.
Some not mentioned...
Hawkwind- Blood Of The Earth
Pineapple Thief- Someone Here Is Missing
Stick Men- Soup
Djam Karet- The Heavy Soul Sessions

2010 and 2019 are my least favs of the 10's though.

Not the best of years, I like Clivages, Iridule, and Il Tempio Delle Clessidre's debut pretty well but, for me, Bateless Edge has grown and stood the test of time better than all of them.

And the third from me today (and two yesterday). Overkill? Hell yeah! But I wanted to get to 2010 before taking a break from this, and 2010 is really special to me, especially for both of these Sufjan Stevens albums and the Joanna Newsom album. But so much stuff I love. One is called an EP by Stevens, but it's about an hour long. I missed it at first because it is labelled as an EP. Luckily it was brought up in a topic I made, and it was love at first listen.

This poll comes in three sections and an "other" (see details on when to use), and multiple voting is not enabled.

The first eight are taken from the unfiltered, except by year, Prog Archives Top Album Chart for 2010. The second eight is taken from the top ten listed albums of the 2010 Collab Album of the Year topic -- there were two duplicated with the top eight PA chart listings, so I did not repeat those in the poll. The third eight is from my top ten Awesome Prog for 2010 list.

"Other" as a voting option is intended to use if you don't like any of the listed options. That said, I would ask people to mention their favourites on and off the list. If, for instance, your favourite on the list is Univers Zero' Clivages, but your actual favourite is Miley Cyrus's Can't Be Tamed, then I request voting for and mentioning Univers Zero's album in a post while also mentioning Miley C's as being your actual favourite album of 2010.

So I would like to hear about what people like both on AND off the list if applicable and, to reiterate, for the "other" voting poll option only to be used if nothing is liked that is already listed. Mention as many of your favourites as you like, both and off the list. And feel free to mention what you don't like that is listed too, and then preferably why it does not appeal.

I hope this has been both a fun list-making (even if but a list of one if that's all that is remembered and/or appeals) and list-comparing exercise, as well as an enjoyable social activity for people to whatver extent.
