Hmmm, according to your comparison, it looks like it's a tie. But I'm sure you left out weights of some sort.
Anyhow, I definitely liked last year's line-up better. Opeth and BTBAM > PoS and Beardfish. I do love all of those bands, but I'm worried that PoS is going to play mostly Scarsick material.
Of course, the quality of the new DT songs would factor into this as well.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

I know Dream Theater is doing a European Tour before the American leg, so perhaps they may do something similar? You're lucky though, prog bands tour Europe far more frequently than they do America.

Protest the Hero is a priority before this, Cannibal Corpse/The Faceless is a priority before this, OPETH/ENSLAVED is a much bigger priority before this. If this is in a seated place like Jones Beach (considering it will be summer) me and my friends will probably wait until Zappa Plays Zappa is just about done with their setlist before making our way in there . I just hope it is.

I'm not much into Dream Theater's music as I used to be. But Pain of Salvation and Zappa Plays Zappa? I'M THERE!

I guarantee anyone who goes to see Zappa Plays Zappa will come out with a new appreciation for Frank's music. They will be the best band there.

DT vs DT...
BTBAM vs Beardfish - Beardfish....I enjoy alot of metal but BTBAM doesn't do it for me at all. The last Beardfish album was AMAZING!
3 vs Zappa - 3, but only because I havn't heard much zappa
Opeth vs POS - TIE

I may actually go this year, I'd absolutely love to see Pain of Salvation, Zappa Plays Zappa is a huge plus as well. Dream Theater is obviously fantastic and I don't know Beardfish.
With that being said, if Pain of Salvation is limited to a 30 minute set then it becomes much less alluring for me. Seriously, I want a full set of PoS if I'm going to make the trek cause I don't see them making it to Pittsburgh.
Has anyone heard what the times of sets are planned for this year?
Thanks,

Alex!
yeah me and my friends are super duper dissapointed because there's nothing brutal for us , we may tailgate before DT. But IMO The Faceless, Cynic, and Meshuggah tour this February blows prog nation 09 away |
Mike! Yeah, well, I guess I'm not brootalz enough for you and your friends.

The last Prognation tour didn't roll through Philadelphia last time around, so I'm looking forward to catching it this time if they stop here. I missed Dream Theater the last time they headlined here as well.
