Well, not quite. There should be second penalty kick for France in the 52 minute IMO. And that second goal for Italians... I'm not sure if it was offside.
Anyway FORZA ITALIA!!!

Oh well, Zidane still remains one of my top 5 heroes even with that headbutt. Reminiscent of Figo!
Anyways, congrats to Italy, but I wished France would have won.

Classic post Horza! Are you sure it wasn't a debate about Celtic and Rangers?

I wanted Italy to win - well done !!!
Apparently Materazzi informed Zidane that Dream Theater were crap and that Liquid Tension Experiment were the better band

First of all, I must say the refereeing was EXCELLENT, to let know to all that people who bashes him just because he's argentinian ...
It's a shame a World Cup finishes with penalty kicks ... AND that Italy is the World champion, because they didn't deserved it ...
France deserved to win because they put more balls ...
Anyway, congratulations, Italy !!

The sad thing about this whole red card controversy is that now Zidane will always be remembered for this moment...

Excellent refereeing.
Congratulations Italy. But without an exclamation mark.
I think France played much better in the second half as well as the other 30 minutes.
As for Zidane : He was excluded and the ref was right.
He must have been insulted and it very well might have concerned his family or something else for him to do such a thing.
The truth will come out sooner or later and I wouldn't want to be in the Italians' shoes when it does.

Actually, Zidane had already shown he'd "lost it" minutes before. At the changearound in extra time, his coach, Domenech, put his arm around Zidane's waist in a friendly & encouraging "gee up" gesture; Zidane reacted as if he'd been goosed by a serial rapist - clearly not happy. Maybe the substitutions had upset him; maybe an injury; maybe just the way the game was going. In any case, he was clearly easy meat for an Italian defender who obviously said something inflammatory (something involving mothers, fathers, hamsters & elderberries, perhaps......) & he flipped.
The stupid thing is, if you're gonna be sent off, at least hurt the other guy........ ......every Scouser & Glaswegian learns at birth that you don't nut people in the chest, but on the nose..........

Thank god, now Flossy can get rid of his signature of Zizu! I didn't watch the game because I don't like either team and didn't want either of them to win. By the way, that doesn't mean I dislike the countries, just the teams. Anyhow, congratulations to Italia. Maybe we can all return to a normal life now, eh?

Yay, I'm happy for all you Italians, well done by your boys!!!
I was extremely happy when France won over Brazil eight years ago, but this time around, my heart was beating for Italy. Have a crazy night in all those beautiful Italian cities!
