it should say 'vocalist i don't like or such rather than worst vocalist...' good or bad it's all subjective you know... and the comments are quite nasty either...

Was that guy Fxxxing kidding? Richard Sinclair is an INCREDIBLE vocalist! For shame! As for the Wyatt diss, I can't even bring myself to comment on that.

I just posted an comment on the topic: Favorite band, song you hate and commented about some of the wost vocals in prog and I thought humm........ this sounds like a good subject. So here we go from the worst to the worst.
Steve Howe( Yes)
who told him he could sing.!!! stick to your guitar man.
Latimer (camel)
He puts me to sleep. thanks God camel is a mostly instrumental band.
Greg Lake (ELP) he used to sings like an angel, (Yeah used to), but now he is sooo terrible. I can't stand his voice anymore........
Richard Sinclair ( Hatfield And the north, caravan, Camel Live))
An excellent bass player, but an awful vocalist GOD!!. Please edits all those vocals parts. Por favor!!!
Ian Anderson ( Jethro Tull)
He need to retired as vocalist. can somebody let him know Please. Another one I can't stand his voice now.!!!
James LABRIE( Dream Theater)
this is funny with guy is the opposite I couldn't stand his voice now I really Like it . so I guess his Early vocals with the Dream got to gooooo.
Kevin Moore ( ex Dream Theater Keys player)
I would Like to know who the hell tells some of the top musicians in the prog -world that they could sing. Please Let me know so I would shoot them.
David GILMOUR( live Pink floyd) He is one of my favorite vocalist, but only on studios recordings,. Live he is sooo bad and unrecognizable what a shame.
Robert WYATT (Soft Machine) again great musician, composer, but such a waist on vocals please where is the delete button for the vocals part. those early Soft machine songs with vocals are extremely awful.
BUT Thanks GOD, Again Thank GOD, Again Thanks GOD after Robert left Soft Machine they became a jazz/fusion band a simply brilliant band.!!!
Not Prog?
SANTANA( SANTANA) the Mexican pro can play some awesome guitar, but please hold the vocals.
Robert Plant( Led Zeppelin) just like Greg Lake I love his voice on the zep albums ,
but in the 80 he lost his voice.he can't sing for anymore. My cat sounds better that him. Maybe he should do a duet with Yoko Ono.
Elton John. the same goes to this great pianist He need to retired. he sounds like me when I am taking a shower., not nice.....
Who else?, Let See? Hummmm ?

Amazing! Your list is almost identical to mine! Especially the top three. They would be my top three as well!

James Labrie live is absolutely dreadful. |
Did you see him last tour? He was spot on. He did have damaged vocal chords due to food poisoning in '94 and didn't recover fully until about 2003.

Cedric Bixler-Zavala of The Mars Volta really annoys me. It's a little bit noisy...a little...extreme pop sounding. LaBrie is also disastrous when he goes high - especially on soft songs.

And I have to agree with those who mention James LaBrie - solely his singing on Ayreon's THE is rather okay. |
Howe 's worst track ever: Australia......

ashame about howe, the guy obviously loves to extress himself..the closest thing to decent is "all a chord" on his steve howe album 79, he was smart to only incude this on and it adds to the overall album, I think so anyway,

Good point, Easy Livin. I've toned down my previous post quite a bit. Sorry for getting a little carried away.

That dude from Eloy. I don't own any Eloy of course, but whenever I hear the samples at the place thing, I'm always struck by the cool music...then start giggling when I hear the German Dude.
HA! You thought I was gonna say Johnny Boy Anderson, didn't you? Nope. I'm not gonna mention his ear splitting robo-voice. Or the fact that I'm listening to Starship Trooper right now.
