I don't like it but hope to get used to it. Can the "newest post" option be brought back? Sometimes I don't like to have the first post as the first thing I see, specially in thread I've already read or answered.
Well, anyway, I guess bravo.

I would like the admins to crack down on the giant f**king image sigs. It's not nice for people on 56k (I'm not, but some are, and it would absolutely rape them), and there's really no need for us to see a huge picture of some band or musician or something that you like after every one of your posts. Hell, even most Last.fm sigs are too large, don't they have smaller designs? They should at least, some of this is just getting obnoxious.

Basically what everybody else said...(colour, latest posts thingy, etc....)
On the positive side:
I'm liking the un-answered topics button. It's nice to be able to take a look at very new topics, otherwise I wouldn't really notice that they're there.

I've got a number of gripes that I may/may not get used to. I agree with glass_house and Angelo about the colour contrast, colours a too pale by far and the wight is very bright, not particularly pleasent. Also, because of the pale colours, I find it difficult ot see which threads are pinned/locked/have a recent post in them, which is very annoying. Lastly, everytime I come to the forum I have to manually log in now, rather than find myself automatically logged in, it only costs me a second or two but its still a bit annoying.

The function [TUBE ] [/TUBE ] doesn't work properly when I place it in my sig. The video shows up in my post instead in the sig.

I've been trying to get used to it, but I sure don't like the new look.

I can't see the "Recent Posts" thing... |
Hit active topics in the upper right corner.... can find the topics that have been recently posted in... not as 'clean' as the ten recent ones... but works better for that... not as hard to lose topics when trolls, hyenas, and RIO freaks descend upon threads and clog the '10 recent'

Heeeyy.. we need space too, y'know
Well, It might work for now. I still hope for a restoration of the "Latest Post" feature on the main forum page though..
|
as leader of the hyena pack.. .we do need our space I guess... but again, things change... it's called survival of the fittest ... the strong.. the adaptable amoung us willl learn to sniff out old decayed rotting corpses of overdone threads and tear them to pieces without the latest post feature. After a couple of hours of navigating without it... it is not hard to not miss it.. at least for me. And it does keep the 'chat' threads from making the site less than it is... a resource for prog rock... rather than an upscale chat site. I had no problem with the VR and similar... only wanted M@X to make the 'latest posts' related to prog only.

Oh yes, I forgot about that useful little hover feature that allowed us to read the beginning of a post within the Latest Posts section, that was rather useful.

but that never really bothered me, and I rarely post in the VR anymore
plus we don't have those handy little window that would appear and show the first part of someone's new post ...I implore the powers that be to restore the Recent Posts function as before

Yeah, a bigger box for signatures would be a fine idea. A lot of people's last.fm sigs will be cut short in this format. |
IMHO smaller box for signatures is better idea.
Signatures occupying almost half of a page are quite annoying. |
agreed, but I'll take it if we can have Recent Posts back in one place at the bottom... the forums seem dead without it
|
I've noticed that too. It makes threads harder to find without it even though it means no VR/STC hogging up the frontpage.
