I need some Vocal Oriented post-rock

   Here is a highlight from Pure Reason Revolution's debut The Dark Third.

Though labelled as Crossover here, they yield some similarities to Raised by Swans in my opinion. 
They have that smooth, airy sound mixed with a dark, alternative sound. Mesmerizing vocals and harmonies here too.
Both male and female vocals obviously.

	Maudlin of the Well isn't really a post-rock band, and i wasn't sure if the music what what you were looking for. Thanks for the detailed explanations and thoughts on my suggestions, it's thoughtful and helps me figure out other suggestions. 	Here's another band I recently discovered on CDbaby called The Observatory. The album I downloaded is "Blank Walls". I recommend that one first (unfortunately there are no songs on youtube from that one). 	Zilver Mt. Zion Has some nice Ambient sounds going on but I would not define what I am hearing as post rock, so much as minimalist/Ambient/Indi. Not bad but not quite what I am looking for. I prefer something more full sounding and atmospheric, yes melancholy but whilst maintaining some energy. Not bad for what it is though. But lacking in melodics. Is Sigur Ros really considered post rock? Whatever they are, I have always liked what I heard from them. Youth Pictures of Florence Henderson sounds good. I like what I am hearing from them so far. I feel like the vocals are against the music almost. But I might be able to get past that with a few more listens. He sounds like he's going for a cross between Black Frances and Wayne Coyne. And I love both the pixies and the Flaming lips. But for my money, I prefer the vocal approach of the other bands I plugged up there. But still not bad. I just wish the vocals didn't sound like an afterthought designed to say "fk the music, fk melody". But I shall listen on. Enablers-I like the music very much. The couple of songs I heard. But what happened to the vocals? Not terrible, but almost, again I feel like they are saying "f**k you" to the music. Most of them are just spoken word. Not bad but I find myself wishing they were sung melodically. But some of them remind me of King Crimson circa 'beat' or three of a perfect pair. I will however listen on to this band to see what else they have to offer. I am just spoilt currently by Early Day miners, Bark Psychosis and the like. But this band is very good. Maudlin of the Well-I like this the best so far of all you have recommended. Not sure what you mean by 'edgy' but I think they are the most unique and beautiful of all these bands so far. The Atmosphere, the melodics and the vocals all seem to resonate on the same frequency, rather than getting wires crossed in the wrong way. The only problem with this one is that after sampling the album most of it seems instrumental (I've only heard two vocal tracks?). Which is a damned shame because the vocal tracks are beautiful.

	I LOVE Post rock that is VOCAL oriented. Forgive me if I offend anyone. But I was wondering if anybody can recommend any VOCAL oriented post rock albums? This category seems hit or miss for my personal tastes. Example. September malevolence has an amazing VOCAL oriented post rock album entitled "after the darkness, there's a next". Here's a sample: But everything else by them seems to be primarily instrumental. Another band I have opened myself to lately a lot is Early Day Miners (Arguably my new favorite band because of their tremendous output). Sample: I absolutely LOVE the two albums I have by Raised by swans. Absolutely brilliant, emotional stuff on both albums. Very atmospheric. And another excellent band all around is Vessels. I prefer this particular album though (White fields and open devices) Because it seems to be at least HALF Vocal oriented. Which is a shame because their vocalist is very nice sounding. Sample: So anyway, I really love these bands at their vocal best. Please recommend me similar bands or other vocally oriented post rock (male or female vocals). Thanks.
