The only difference between oranges and a screwdriver is one large shot of vodka.
Now I face the prospect of having daughter and son-on-law moving in with us while they save-up enough cash to move somewhere else I'm beginning to question the difference between parent and slave at the moment, though I'm pretty confident that vodka will be involved in the equation somewhere. |
add some Galliano and you've got a wallbanger. after the cost of the vodka, you can try saving up enough cash to get your own place and leave no forwarding address. |
Nah, too expensive and I haven't finished paying for this one yet. In the time-honoured British tradition I am splashing out £500 to buy a garden shed in which I shall install a hifi, tv, comfy chair and a well-stocked drinks cabinet, and as winter approaches no doubt some form of heating:

The episode of 'Friday Night Dinner' where Martin finds a dead fox he wants to stuff and display in his shed came to mind when I read this.

Unfotunately your media tell you lies about Iran and made a ugly face of us. I hope Iranians don't love the West too much, because there's no uncompromising theocracy, but there are tons of self-named aspiring gods, everyone on his own, this is very messy.
After reading iran leaders' tweets I wouldn't call them ugly, but some of their politics esp. encouraging intifada and promising end of Israel look clumsy. From their point of view, if they wanted to be good sport, they'd claim for Israel to change names + flag, fuse with Palestine into a laicised country (provided God was not willing massive conversions to Islam there) and invest into palestinian culture and arts instead of militias.

I remember hearing some mouthy woman on MSNBC a few years back saying that we needed to get past the idea that children belonged to their families, and start to understand that they belong to whole communities. I don't know if that was a veiled way of saying they actually belong to the state

But some one may use your comment against us (Maybe don't understand you kidding bro). I know kuwait peoples and I know about your women's right. Honestly you different to other Arab countries.
I search in my memory to recall your great football player (I don't use internet). Beshar Abdollah was a great player. Fast and technical.

Ummm...no, I am not "completely wrong". To say so is daft, and then adding in alleged views of Iran from the perspective of the media that have no bearing on women's rights does not aid in your argument. Saying that Iranian women are free "besides wearing a hijab" is specious, perhaps even fallacious.
Iranian women have made strides toward more independent lives beyond the crushing oppression of patriarchal Islamic fundamentalism. However, honor killings are still accepted in tribal areas of Iran. Women are still stoned to death on occasion (Iran amended the law in 2013 allowing judges to use another form of execution, but it does not preclude "adulterers" from being stoned). So much for Iranian enlightenment.
Oh, is the Fatwa ordering death to Salman Rushdie as proclaimed by Iranian clerics still on the books? I believe it is. By the way, you should read The Satanic Verses by Rushdie; that is, if you are allowed to do so. |
Hi and Thanks for reply. Yes you right. Now I want to improved my wrote : You absolutly wrong ABOUT IRAN. This is shine like sun that European women are freer and I agree that 100%. Iranian women have fought for their freedom in the past 37 years. I mention to hijab and I know this isn't good. I have 2 daughters (23 and 16 yaers old) and when they went out or went to party , me and my wife were worried till they back (because of Hijab and Police arresting!!!). but Your media show you stoned or ... EXAGGERATE. This may happened in one village and I don't want to ignore these stuffs but number of these things are very very small (1 or 2 in one year) .
In U.S.A someone(2-3 person) shooting to peoples with Firearm or Machine Gun in Cinema or high school then I tell to others "All of U.S teens shoot people" or "They still use guns like 100 years before in wild west". Or in a few U.S towns , cops attacks to innocent black peoples and kill innocent men and women of them , then I tell " All of U.S white people killing black peoples and they choose one black man as President for show off" Is it fair? is it correct? ofcourse NOT.
Iran is very different country in Middle East and Iranian women are freer than Arab's women or ... You can see that in Imperial Zeppelin comment about their women. I can't convince you or guys like you.
We must try to be honest. I am honest about my country and I know there are many problems about Human Rights but Iran better than many of countries in Middle East.

Not in IRAN bro. You can talk about your country not all of Middle East countries. You can't say that for Iran. Unfortunately Arabs vs Iran war continue till now. I don't know what you think but never forget Iraqi's attack to Iran in 1980-1981 and all of Arab nations help Saddam to kill more of Iranian peoples. Saddam used "Chemical Weopon on that war and Arab nations helped him . And After the war with Iran was over, Saddam invaded Kuwait and we (Iranian Peoples) help to kuwait people to enter to Iran.
I don't know about kuwait's women but you totally wrong about Iranian women and UNFORTUNATELY we are in Middle east too!!

It may also explain why screwdrivers taste terrible.

Little Billy, "Don't play with guns." Is it about ownership or maturity.

Please offer some context in regards to your question. In some societies, particularly in the Middle-east, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc., the rigid patriarchal structure of the family (whether through rigid stratification of caste, fundamentalism or traditional taboos and medieval mores) amounts to slavery for women. |
You completely Wrong. Iran in Middle-East but we are not ARAB. I respect to our ARAB neighbors but we are not ARAB. Women is free in Iran. I know what you think. Hejab (or Hijab) is like uniform in Iran and Police force women (and men) to have Hejab BUT Iranian women are free beside of Hijab . They can vote and they can candidate for President and Parliament. We have many women in Parliament. Iranian women works like men . Iranian women allowed to drive (in some of ARAb countries they can do that). My wife and daughter drive more than me. They save their family name after wedding . and too many another things. Unfotunately your media tell you lies about Iran and made a ugly face of us. They (your medias) show on TV some Iranian people that say "Down with USA" or this kind of stuffs but Most of Iranian peoples LOVE Americans and other west nations. a little people show off this "Down with ..." and all of this kind of peopls organized by goverment to show off for political purpose. You can ask your Athletes or any one that triped to IRAN.
Few months earlier U.S Volyball national team came to Iran and stay 3-4 days. You can ask them about Iran. You say "Middle East" easily but You must to know there are countries that you mistake about that. You must got correct information before talking about Nations. |
