I've been listening to Greenslade a lot recently thanks to the re-issues. They were a great band from a technical point of view and 2 keyboard players is yummy. I think Lawson added some much needed character to the band otherwise it would just have been a boring jazz rock combo. Kansas were absolutely a more interesting band up to about 1977 but then like a lot of US prog bands took a dive and got swept up within the American Coporate Rock Scene along with Boston, Forreigner and god forbid Reo Speedwagon .. yuck! That was a shame because they along with Chicago ( who also suffered the same fate to some extent) were massively important in their early days. Voted Kansas.

Greenslade, I find your lack of guitar disturbing.
Meanwhile, Kansas knows how to rawk--I still like to rock.

Kansas too American and a bit straight rock at times. Greenslade had a strong 4 years then the first greenslade solo which is like the fifth greenslade album

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.
