I've been going back on Floyd and Crimson recently. I ended up loweering my ratings a bit for three Floyd albums.

WYWH: 100 - 95

Animals: 97 - 93

Meddle: 95 - 93.5

Still have to go back to Piper. For King Crimson, it's a little different.

Discipline: 97 - 98

Starless: 96 - 96, the same

Islands: 85 - 100

I feel like this was the album In the Court wanted to be in a way. It was a brilliantly written album, but the immediate shift from 21st Century Schizoid Man's hard-hitting jazz to an entire album of softer more folk-oriented tracks was a little disappointing, considering the opener is the best song. This issue is fixed on the more balanced but just as beautiful Islands.

The first four I quite like. Red and Larks are among my favorite albums. The rest of the Crimson catalog is somewhat like Zappa. I appreciate it more than I really like it.
