Hi,

I have too many of his albums to think that one is better than the other. I happen to be one of the few that thinks that "200 Motels" is a fantastic thing, and the live presentation of it at UCLA showed how great it was many years later before Gail passed away.

As much as I like ONS and AP ... I really think that they were albums done almost exclusively for the HOT ... VERY HOT ... FM Radio of the days, specially in Southern California ... and all of a sudden, when KMET and KLOS could play some of those things, it meant ... FZ is big and now accepted, and sadly, this leaves behind the great legacy that he had already built ... which for me is far better than these two albums almost setup for radio, and sometimes I like to think of them as not exactly representative of FZ's catalogue ... it's just that more rock songs, are more appreciated for the rock music fans, than some silly words about toothpaste and Donovan, which many rock folks think is really stupid and do not get the satirical side of it, and how well thought out it was in the first place.

All in all ... I can't say I have a favorite album since I have around 20 different titles by FZ starting from the early days ... and choosing one over the other ... is heck on my thinking ... too many battles!

So for me ... all or nothing! Specially when I don't go around asking which of Beethoven's 9 Symphonies is my favorite ... I can't even decide on those!

The premise of the thread is quite simple. You pick a few of your favorites, and you move on. You don't drunkenly rabbit on for several paragraphs about nonsense that has nothing to do with the thread.

In this instance, take your own advice: "all or nothing". And I would suggest that "nothing" from you would be appreciated.

Won't include live albums - that should be a separate category:
Grand Wazoo
Waka/Jawaka
Uncle Meat
One Size Fits All
Sleep Dirt

Apostrophe, Hot Rats, Overnight Sensation, Chunga's and You Are What You Is would slide right into any of those positions on any given day of the week.  I guess you'd call it my Top 5 on the morning of March, 20, 2021.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

No. Too hard. I suppose they'd all be live albums (or partly live with the overdubs). Even more if you include ZFT releases.

Ok maybe I'll try. Only releases while he was alive, no You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore comps.

5. Tinseltown Rebellion
4. The Best Band You've Never Heard in Your Life
3. Live in NY (including Deluxe if you include ZFT)
2. Make a Jazz Noise Here
1. Roxy (tied with ZFT releases like Roxy by Proxy and the full Roxy Performances box set)
