Hi,
My take is that Paul Simon will be remembered way past his lifetime for all the music in his career. I, honestly, do not think that PG stands up as well, however, that is not saying I don't like his material. I DO, and I have more of it than GENESIS itself. But then, I have more Anthony Phillips than either of them, too! Even if we consider sales and hits, Paul (along with Art), has way more hits, sales and wonderful music than both the other two combined. The sad side of it, is that Paul Simon is misrepresented in this poll since half of his career was way before the other two and what they accomplished. By that time Paul and Art were apart and Paul went on to do some very successful albums on his own. It's just not quite all rock music for Paul, and I'm not sure we can get past that, yet!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

I suppose you are right, I was very strict with him. Careless whisper was well done. |

Gabriel > (very close) Simon >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Michael Anyway I voted for Simon, because I like his songwriting. He is a storyteller who embodied an era and played a big role in producing an author's songs full of exotic arrangements. Gabriel is more an experimenter, Simon is more an author. Overall I like Gabriel's music more. George Michael? Oh, well, he was a good interpreter of banal and commercial music. his music is on another planet, compared to music with quality.

George Michael, surprisingly. I have all of his albums, apart from his albums with Wham, obviously.

I voted George just for fun ...and because he's awesome. Not to mention he was a great Freddy fill-in. |

3 artists whom hade a base of carear from three different decades Paul in the 60s, Peter in the 70s and George in the 80s. Ye Genesis (Peter) started in 69 but he really laid the groudwork in the 70s (and 80s). All three are /were philantropists to a certain extent.
Each have two names linked to them that utelize two given names (exept Geroge Michael who chose that names instead of hes greek last name, which would be nightmare to any tabloid press to spell correctly. Thre amazing artists whom have given the world a "tonn" of great music to respond to. I have favourite songs from all three, be it "Me and Julio Down at the School Yeard" "You can call me Al" "Kabatchumbo" "Biko" "Sledgehammer," "Freedom", "Careless Wisper" and "Faith". Sadly the youngest of the thre is no longer among the livving George is/was one of the best singers of hes generation, hes resonanze in hes voice and "tonality" was close to perfect.
