it absolutely is and it is one of my very favourite albums of the year. Leaving it off was due to carelessness. Kind of surprised that you didn't find any to mention or wanted to mention that you like in the list, John (maybe just not much free time to list those), no worries, though, but I do like all three acts, and Zyma definitely would have made the list had I Thought of it, and Ghilgoul too (I did not put enough time into making my lists at AwesomeProg). Definitely those are ones that I have put in polls before. I will add both to the polls. MY lists at AwesomeProg are works in progress, and I am very glad for people to not only try to list and vote for albums they like in the list but also mention ones that are off of it. Those I might even know and like more than listed mentions of mine. Sometimes the year is off or I just failed to research/ search for / remember. I am pretty sloppy / disorganised. Anyway, as said, people can vote for three or more or less. I wish we did not have to vote once at at a time and would just tick off the ones we want to vote for the first time. This forum could have a better multiple choice option. And I should have done Kraftwerk as Kraftwerk - Die Mensch·Maschine / The Man Machine. Either release is fine. I actually, myself, prefer this in English. Edited by Logan - March 01 2025 at 07:44 |

National Health, Mensch Maschine. Then both Kate Bush albums and Anabelas at about the same level. Will click the one of these that has the fewest votes. Also love Cyclone.

Anyone who lived through 1978 knows they had those National Health albums to cling to while prog was dying around them. Both Henry Cow and ELP (for the first time) called it a day that year. Apart from National Health good albums from Hackett and Hillage also came out along with the second album from Gilgamesh.

^ Thanks guys. And the Nina Hagen is indeed an awesome album. I adore "Naturtrane". It gives me serious Focus' Hamburger COncerto meets GIorgio Moroder's Cat People (Leopard Tree Dream) vibes.
By the way, here is presdoug's list from his recent poll for ease of reference as I intended this to be complementary to his altogether different list (Hemispheres is in my longer Awesome Prog list, but none of the others from this list, and I'm something of a maximalist so a much longer list from me... I would have liked longer): Giger Lenz Marron - Where The Hammer Hangs Genesis - And Then There Were Three PFM - Passpartu Gunter Fischer Quintet - Combination Rush - Hemispheres Budgie - Impeckable Wishbone Ash - No Smoke Without Fire John Mclaughlin - Electric Guitarist Passport - Sky Blue (Ataraxia) Edited by Logan - February 28 2025 at 08:23 |
