King Crimson-In The Court Of The Crimson King, with Miles Davis-In A Silent Way, a close second...

Hard, if not impossible to pick one out of these four for me:

Univers Zero-Heresie
King Crimson-In The Court Of The Crimson King
Miles Davis-In A Silent Way
Art Zoyd-Musique Pour l'Odyssee

Really like these as well:

Frank Zappa-Hot Rats
Amon Duul II-Phallus Dei
Santana-Santana
Pink Floyd-The Wall
Heldon-Stand By
Tangerine Dream-Force Majeure
Voivod-Nothingface

Incidentally, my top two listed albums for each year at AP are (and such rankings are quite arbitrary often):

1969: East Of Eden - Mercator Projected & The Soft Machine - Volume Two
1979: Henry Cow - Western Culture & Tubeway Army - Replicas
1989: Cardiacs - On Land And In The Sea & Thinking Plague - In This Life

I normally would include both the East Of Eden and Thinking Plague records. Nice pick too with Heldon, an absolute favourite when it comes to electronics.

Daniel Denis is drumming on both the "Heresie" album and the Art Zoyd record listed here. Neither have votes right now.

They showed up on my Pandora radar one day. Very interesting band out of Cali methinks.

Still …. I went with KC, which remains a fine album that has withstood the test of time. Lake, Fripp, and co. sound so good on that rendition but it wouldn’t last.

So glad you voted for this one. Again "special" is a word I would relate to this album as well as Seasons End. I just think of these dark soundscapes and still remembering where I was one time when listening to this record back in the day on a trip.

I have a hard time with Fish's theatrics. I can handle Misplaced Childhood the best in that regard. Season's End makes me nostalgic. A special record.

My vote as well. A 5 star Prog metal album sure, but more than that, it was the album that led me to Prog

This album should be leading right? I always seem to come down to it and Hot Rats and I usually pick Zappa. They are part of my top three along with Fates Warning.

Tangerine Dream, Djam Karet, Fates Warning, Santana, Heldon...many of my favorite bands. What madness is this?

Incredibly, Force Majeure has no votes and it's one of their very best recordings. Now it does.
