Pretty Close on this should be Eh? My vote goes to TOOL but they are both so unique and each have qualities that make me want to vote for them each but my Inner feeling point to TOOL. Edited by Oxygen Waster |

This thread is not bad. I understand people's need for comparisons and contests and the need to decide which is the best. I do not have such a burning need, but sometimes I can relate to it. The bad threads here are much, much worse... and without any taste at all. |

I was just trying to say that the best way to keep such threads from taking over the forum is simply not to post in them. After all, even a "negative" post like "I don't like this thread" will push the thread back to the top of the list. Having said that: I don't think that this thread is so bad - but next time please add more options (like for example "Cannot be compared"). Edited by MikeEnRegalia |

^^^ I agree with you. But this is why there are certain threads I refrain from going into, since I do not subscribe to the logic behind them. Instead I focus mainly on threads dedicated to learning new bands, albums or to answer others questions about bands. Can't really decide between the two. No real relationship, no base for comparison. Love them both, why choose? |

I can tell you - what is obvious for one, can be a complete mystery for others; and silence is not always golden. And another thing - polls like "favourite length" and "most important organ" already demonstrate low level of discussions at the forum, and now someone tries to compare uncomparable. Wonder what's next... |

What about this poll: "Stating the obvious vs. Silence is golden"?

It's a matter of taste, of course, but all in all this poll is ridiculous. What about poll "Which band is better?" ABBA or Sex Pistols ???

PAIN OF SALVATION. The deciding factor was the vocals. Better vocals in PAin of Salvation.

PoS is good, but Tool is just the all around better band in pretty much every way.
