I don't agree with SillyPuppy's low rating of the Roots To Branches album (he seemed to like it until the end of the review. Odd), but I enjoyed reading his review of the album.

^ I didn't notice at first either. Lots of great reviews lately. I feel like checking out Yezda Urfa after the reviews of Keishiro and Mike. I was glad to read Drew's review of the latest La Coscienza di Zeno, there was something less appealing about that album and I coulnd't figure out what it was. Oh, and thanks, I completely forgot about La Bocca della Verità, even though it was on my top 20 that year. Killer album, even if a little long. Great to see John back here too

^ Thanks! I almost didn't write a review this year. The text was duplicated somehow, I'm glad you brought it to my attention.

I also really enjoyed VianaProghead's review of Caravan's - In the Land of the Grey & Pink Made me go back and listen to it again in its entirety. Thank you

A nice run of reviews lately to breakup the covid boredom by Ken Levine, ViennaProgHead and Rivertree with her always obscure but fascinating European prog artist reviews. And kudos to a chap named Lupton who had a nice run of Barkley James Harvest reviews about a half week ago.

A very good in-depth review by Progaardvark on Mason's Saucerful of Secrets Live CD/DVD, with an excellent back story of Mason and the band. Bravo.

I enjoyed BrufordFreak chopping down the debut by Grumblewood. Vocals mean a lot to me with prog folk and weak heavily reverbed lead vocals are off putting to me too, so Drew really hit the nail on the head for me. The review of the songs and their multi influences was excellent. And how often does BF give 3 star reviews? I'm really impressed that he went out of his comfort level on this one.
Edit: After rereading the review, I think the 3 star rating was an error. Oh, well. Still good stuff.

A really nice run of eclectic albums over the past few days. I enjoyed the Horte review by Damo. He said once that he wasn't too sure of his English. He must have been joking! Aussie-Byrd man with German space rockers Zone Six and JavaJeff on the new Crippled Black Phoenix. All stellar. Forgive me if I missed a few names. You were all appreciated.

Thanks guys. Islands was a hard one for me, but I can easily understand why others like it. Perhaps if it was an album recorded by someone else of less stature than KC, I would have been knocked out. But "would of and could of" can't change your perceptions, I'm afraid. Too bad really, as I could enjoy many more albums in my collection. Edited by SteveG - November 05 2020 at 15:32 |

Fine review, indeed. I fully agree with his review but I never could put it into words like he did. I keep trying again from time to time but I space out easily.

Steve G’s review of Islands.
Starkly honest, and whose rating I disagree with, as this album has become one of my favourites in recent years. In the past, I would have agreed with Steve, but a reappraisal has led to my loving it. However, this is a fine review. Reviewers should never be afraid of open and honest appraisal, and this is a really good example.

I enjoyed BrufordFreak's review of the Santana/McLaughlin colab and his interesting trip down memory lane with record collecting. And it's not everyday that someone mentions the Columbia Record Club or Don Kirchner's Rock concert in a prog review. Good stuff Drew.

All in good time. Things move slowly here. I suggested an artist that was added about 5 yeas later!! So you're ahead of the game.
