Can you tell me where my country lies?

Still waiting for my saviour...

Yesterday a morning came...

Proclame this an emergency, come on and spread a sensce of urgency...

"You want me to play what, Robert?"

"I am just a poor boy and my story’s seldom told
I’ve squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises
All lies and jest, still the man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest, hmmmm"

Simon and Garfunkle, The Boxer

I'm not a big fan of Roger Waters' solo material but these lines jumped out at me;

"Hey Joe, where you going with that dogma in your head?
You can make you point but your kids will still be dead."

Can't believe I forgot:

Dawn of light lying between a silence and sold sources,
Chased amid fusions of wonder, in moments hardly seen forgotten,
Coloured in pastures of chance dancing leaves cast spells of
challenge,
Amused but real in thought, we fled from the sea whole.
Dawn of thought transfered through moments of days underseaarching
earth
Revelaing corridors of time provoking memories, disjointed but with
purpose,
Craving penetrations offer links with the self instructors sharp
And tender love as we took to the air, a picture of distance.
Dawn of our power we amuse redescending as fast as misused
Expression, as only to teach love as to reveal passion chasing
Late into corners, and we danced from the ocean.
Dawn of love sent within us colours of awakening among the many
Won't to follow, only tunes of a different age.
As the links span our endless caresses for the freedom of life
everlasting.

DA DA DUM DA DA DUM...

Lost again beyond the boundaries of my fears..Solitude my only friend.

Ghosts within the heart remain when time turns over.. From inside lies reprieve the cage.

Where are you Mother Earth please gently rock the cradle.

Tightening the grip on their chains.. they hurt for the fear and warmth that runs down their veins.

And the congregation sits and stares at the ragged hands and the ragged faces holding out for sanctuary crying to be free.

And the line of crosses keeps getting longer as our children trip the light fantastic.

And the winds of thought are stirring now on the walk towards the dark horizon.

Take heed so all you governments.. Hide grace for one man lied..And stand below the cross to watch your nation crucified.

So! Come on ye childhood heroes
Won't you rise up from the pages
Of your comic books your supercrooks
And show us all the way.
Well! Make your will and testament
Would you? Join the local goverment.
Will have Superman for president
Let Robin save the day.

So! Where the hell was Biggles when you needed him last Saturday?
And where were all the sportsman who always pulled you through?
They're all resting down in Cornwall wrrriting up their memoirs
For a paper-back edition of the Boy Scout Manual.

Stinkfoot Frank Zappa

Now scientists call this disease bromidrosis
(that’s right!)
And well they should
Even napoleon knows that
But us regular folks
Who might wear a tennis shoe
Or an occasional python boot
Know this exquisite little inconvenience by the name of:
Stink foot
Saw you sitting on a sunbeam
in the middle of my daydream

only few of hundreds:

Camel
Saw you riding on a moon cloud,
Saw you walking on a whirlpool,
From the corner of my eye,
I saw you.

Supertramp
Teach me to fly, so I shall drag my feet in the sand
Give me the sky, I will would take the whole world in my hand

and
Can we be free, in a world where to love is to own?
Well when will we see, that a man must face life all alone

My form is mystic, but my heart is pure,
you'd better believe what I say:
I am the Necromancer.

Saw you sitting on a sunbeam

"Are you all seaty two-square comflybold on your botties?

Then I'll begin."

(Stanley Unwin narrating the opening lines of "Ogden's Nut Gone" by The Small Faces.)

"He found a tiger's head one day, nailed to a piece of wood. The tiger looked quite miserable - but I suppose 'e should. Just then from aht the window, a voice began to wail; It said "Oi! Where's me tiger's 'ead?"

"Four foot from 'is tail!!!".

(Lonnie Donnegan - "My Old Man's a Dustman")

"My kids say; "He said to me, you know, I'm like - and he's like - and she's like..."; It's all he's all, she's all... I can't get behind that kinda, like... English!"

(William Shatner - "I Can't Get Behind That", from the album "Has Been".

"Halt! Who goes there?"

....

....

....

"Deaaaaaaaathhhhhh....."

...

"Approach...

Friend."

(From one of the greatest (Prog) albums of all time ).
