Have you ever heard this band?

They are from South Africa, and they make good music.

From  a progressive point of view, you can "compare" them to Dead Soul Tribe (not too much)

Do you think they have some qualities for being included in the Archives? (especially their 2005 release Karma And Effect)

Let me know your opinions, I like them very much.

No. no.  There is no way.  Seether is angsty teen-pop nu-metal garbage with no redeeming qualities whatever.  I'll admit, I haven't heard the 2005 release, but the other releases were just awful.  Have your ears never been raped by the Seether/Amy Lee song?

Yes I know the collaboration with Amy Lee, personally I don't like it, but I'm talking about Seether themselves, in particular their latest album. NOTE: I don't want them necessarily in the Archives. I'm only discussing if in your opinion they have some good qualities. Anyway, give a go to Karma And Effect, IMHO it has some beautiful heavy rock - prog - blues moments.

I might try the new album...  occasionally, awful acts have redeeming futures.  But their first two albums really -were- painful.

PS:  Moogles are the best things ever.

Do you remember Kupop, Kuro, Kumama, and the others from FFVI?  Not to mention the quintessential MOG!

  Moogle mail!

Final Fantasy VI was my absolute favorite, though I'm looking forward to the remake of the third one (first time it's got an English release) in 3D on the DS.

Why do you want to move this thread?

I think I've been polite, I just asked some question about a band, some opinions, (as it was made in the Coheed and cambria, queen, stream of passion thread). You are showing a certain indifference, haughtiness and pride.

you can also reply to the question directly, without using irony.

It's not that it's a bad thread, just that it should be under Non-Prog music... the Prog lounge is supposedly only for bands in the archives.

As for Seether, I really don't like them.  Angsty teen rock is rarely good, although I guess I liked it when I was an angsty teen.
If you want bands that sort of sound like angsty teen rock bands, but really aren't, and are in fact very good...
May I suggest:

The Apex Theory - they released one album as a 4-piece that was vaguely nu-metal but very well done, and they actually toured with one ozzfest.  They later lost their singer and self-released a fabulous EP as a 3-piece.  they have a lot of progressive potential.

Pulse Ultra - a little more angsty type stuff, some interesting time signatures, they had progressive potential but never ran with it as much as they should and came out sounding like a nu-metal band.  still good tho.
