ARENA IS NOLAN'S BABY AND CONTAINS HIS MOST ARTISTIC OUTPUT. HE IS VIRTUALLY A BACK SEAT DRIVER IN PENDRAGON. I DO LIKE HIS COLLABORATIONS WITH WAKEMAN JNR THOUGH! JABBERWOCKY IS EXCELLENT!

I love Pendragon but as it comes to Clive Nolan: his absolute peak performance is the Casino - album IMHO. Both Geoff Mann's and Clive Nolan's best album! Clive's brilliant music fits like a glove to Mann's brilliant concept. A work of true genius.

Pendragon.
Arena's albums from The Visitor - Contagion are pretty dark (though Contagion not so much) and that's not really what I'm after. But Tales from the Lion's Cage and Pepper's Ghost are really great albums.

I haven't heard any Strangers on a Train or Casino. Perhaps I'll do so in the future. Any way I went for Arena. I think his music is great though and have Pendragon and Shadowland as well as his pair of albums with Wakeman. . In fact, I listened to Jabberwocky this afternoon

Pendragon. Nolan is defintely not a back seat driver.
Arena doesn't strike me at all. Don't ask me why.
Shadowland is nice. The rest is not that known to me.

Well, if you are asking which band Clive shines the most in.... then Arena, obviously as he writes this material.
I must've seen "the shads" a dozen or more times in their day, I do have a soft spot for them, but Arena is some fine work.
And Casino is as said rather spesh!
However if you are asking which band I prefer...........well the Pendragon without a doubt.

I enjoy both Arena and Pendragon; however, the music in Pendragon just slays me. Love that stuff.
