Well, the obvious reason against choosing Tool for such a poll is: They don't have any particular relation to drugs. A band like the Ozric Tentacles would have been a far better choice ...
|
I sort of agree with MikeEnRegalia, except I think band like Can would be a perfect choice for such poll. I tried smoking canabis very few times in my life - it's not my cup of tea. But yesterday, I was wondering what if I get stoned, would I like Can's opuses a bit more or not???
As to Tool - I don't like them at all, but one day I came across CD called "Third Eye Open. The String Tribute to Tool", and I quite liked it. So maybe it is how Tool sound repels me off them.

I like Tool I think they are one of the best progressive metal bands. I have also smoked a lot of reefer...today.
As for the correlation between Tool and drugs, I find more rythymnic bands like Tool to be much more enjoyable while I'm high. The groove just seems more appealing to me. I enjoy Tool whether I'm high or not, but the experience is more fulfilling while I'm high.

I like Tool, Lateralus at least.
But as a great and wise man once said, "Don't get high and drive a car, you will not get very far."

I agree, no band has given me a better eargasm while high/tripping than Tool.
The results surprise me, most Tool fans here have not used drugs... To me, that would be kind of weird listening to the Third Eye intro if you haven't done drugs. I just got Ozric Tentacles Strangeitude so I'm gonna light one up and listen to it.

I quite like Tool (not a huge fan but I do like most of Laeteralus) and I've taken quite a lot of drugs, legal and illegal, over the years.
Just to throw a spanner into the works, I don't think I've ever listened to a Tool album while stoned. It's not the kind of thing I generally have on when I'm in a more 'relaxed' frame of mind - I go more for the psychedelic/spacey end of prog if I'm having a smoke.

I'm not sure about drugs, but to appreciate Tool you definitely
need to be able to know how to write in your native language. |

ive used weed in the past, probably will in the future again, but thats it
And I haven't listened to Tool much, and although I'm not sure exactly
how progressive they are, I like what I've heard. Not my favourite, but
still a good band.

During my school-time I've smoked weed, sh*t and such stuff, but I haven't smoked anything since about one year, as I had a car crash with a road sign (I also had a couple of beer).
I like Tool very much, but never listened to them as I was high. But since I have used marihuana, I must click yes.
An advertise to you people: Don't use drugs, because they will very fast use you!
