Seyo i agree with you about Yu-prog topic but you should call it like we Yugoslavians have always said 'YU-Rock'.But if you all want here to write about Yu-Rock bands it's fine with me,we need to spread this music around the world by one room-topic.

Anyway from which part of the world are you, Smakovci(Smak fans)?

There is already a Yugo prog topic started here http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=7440&a mp;PN=1

So you can join there for a general discussion about prog rock from former Yugoslavia.

Enjoy!

There is a joke about Smak and their guitarist Točak:

They went to USA to buy instruments for the band.

In some small town somwere in mid USA they went to a shop.

They asked the man who worked theree to play on some instruments so they could decide which one to buy.

It came out that the seller played better every instrument (maybe exept guitar) then the members of the band.

I've heared that Tocak came to buy a guitar and he picked one and started playing it.

The people from neighborhood came to see who was playing the guitar.

That was i think in USA when they were touring

I was on two their concerts in Zagreb, one in the period of Crna Dama for audience of 15000, and one sometime in early 1980's when only 40 people visited the concert. They played correctly, but not with passion. I was on Miki Petkovski solo concert and it was great. Only four people were on that concert. Those were beautiful, very optimistic times in Yugoslavia.

Only 40 and 4?And you ask me why do i think all who listen to Bjelo Dugme are blinded and idiots.

Well what can i say except that if discography house Yugoton wasn't so corupted ,our music would be much better, when i say better i mean there would be more of Yu-Jazz,Yu-Blues,Yu-Rock,YU-Metal,Yu-disco,Yu-Ethno.

From '60 to this day we fight against our Folk singers who sound like radio Teheran. And 70 to 80 % of people are now listenning to that blody folk.

We have leterly divided Folk and Ethno. So don't think when i say Folk that i mean Ethno,i don't.

I never saw Smak in concert.

Livnica, I understand your rage against "folk" but sometimes it is not sure what we mean by "folk music". Almost all rock bands used "folk" in one way or another, including Smak

Oh and I did not know you are listening to Radio Teheran?!

No i just pointed that we have diference between words folk and ethno.Folk is simillar to radio Teheran, and ethno is as we say 'izvorna' it's the music that we have made long time ago and sang for many 100 years ,like epic and lyric poetry which has transformed to music by years.

Ethno i listen and that is what Smak and many other ex-Yu groups uses or had used.

Pozdrav svima!(Hello to everyone)

I never listened so much Smak than some other Yugo prog bands but i'll pick Crna Dama as one of the best Ex-Yu rock albums,a masterpiece of Yugo rock!

PS.About Bijelo Dugme,i like they early stuff because it has some prog elements such as 'Sanjao sam nocas da te nemam'.I'm born in Sarajevo, and i was intruduced in early age to Sarajevo commercial pop-rock bands, but later i discovered a more underground talented scene.

Welcome!  I know some of your reviews, bravo

I actually live in Sarajevo and experienced all that "dugmemanija" thing during my teens from the first hand, but I was too young to go to concerts then.

Please enough of Bjelo Dugme i have placed them in non-rock group and this forum is for only Smak and those that have helped them and made songs with them.
