Topic: Your dream double bill and where? Posted: August 17 2006 at 09:11 |
What would be your ultimate main act, opener, and where? If too tough to narrow down, go for two. What the heck?
Mine:
Marillion w/ special guest Riverside

Univers Zero and Thinking Plague at some open field by the sea somewhere nearby Stavanger, Norway. Godspeed and Kayo Dot. As above. Or Thule (mainly playing songs from their first two albums) and a reunioned Høst (the "Hardt mot hardt" line-up) at the North Cape plateau...

You know, when you paint that picture, the venue in Marillion's Live At Loreley is pretty cool. Just love to see Marillion on their home turf.

Marillion w/ Riverside sounds remotley possible. Marillion is on Riverside's MySpace friends list. If it ever happens, I'm in.

If I'm allowed the luxury of choosing defunct bands, at a defunct venue, then I'll pick Thin Lizzy followed by 1970's KC (including Cross & Muir), at the tatty, but (for me) nostalgic London Hammersmith Odeon.
If you force me to live in the real world, then I'll go for one of the more recent KCs, including whichever drummer & bassist is currently in favour, along with Robert Plant. Venue: my garden!

Difficult to say... Perhaps I'd go with Deep Purple MK II with Rush as special guests. Sounds a bit absurd, but that would really be something to behold!

Deep Purple MK 2 (1972) with Kansas(1977) on a double headliner
Then...
Marillion (with Fish) and Rush (1978) on a double opener!
The venue, 4 blocks from my house (where I witnessed the mighty Dio in action)
Wait!! On second thoughts, remove Marillion and put in Rainbow (1977)

Not lately. Seems like they've been playing the Forum in recent years.
